- http://www.consumersearch.com/water-filters/best-water-filters - very good, but doesn't hyperlink to sources
- kinda dubious new-agey site, chart stolen from aquasana; "All performance claims and pricing were taken from the manufacturerâs literature and certified claims."
- Amazon best sellers in Faucet water filters and Faucet mounts
Faucet water filters
Brita
While the filters get great reviews, all their faucet mounts get at most 4 stars, with the 4 stars one being obsoleted by a model that gets 3 stars.
Brita 35214 Base Faucet Filtration System
- poor quality faucet mount
Brita 42201 On Tap Filtration System, White
- spray option
- - poor construction faucet mount
- - 2.5 out of 5 stars at Amazon, 74 reviews
Brita 42622 On Tap Filtration System, White/Chrome
- reviews 2003-2009
- poor plastic construction
Brita 42633 Faucet Filtration System, Black/Chrome
- poor construction faucet mount
Brita 42645 Aquaview On Tap Filtration System
- replaceable battery
- good design; spray option
- bulky compared to On Tap
- filters cost twice as much as On Tap
Brita On Tap Replacement Filters, 2-Pack, Chrome, for Models FF-100 & OPFF-100 (42618)
- the one of two filters than work for the Brita on Tap, the other
- - slow flow: 30s/liter, or minutes for a coffee pot
- + faster than a pitcher and tastes better than the GE fridge built-in filter
- + gullible tech support
- Amazon has the best deal on this filter
Brita On Tap Replacement Filters, 2-Pack, White
- 32 5-star reviews (albeit many from clueless folks who reviewed Amazon's delivery), 3 4-stars, none less than that
- + use the spray to prevent hard water stains
- + better design than PUR: no cracks or leaks after year(s) of use
- + green/red light indicator of when to replace the filter, but powered by non-replaceable battery which fails sooner than the advertised 5 years
- + spray option
- - scarcely available in stores; many reviewers ordered from Amazon because of that
Culligan FM15A Culligan FM-15A Faucet Filter
- #1 best seller at Amazon
- no spray feature to avoid hard water stains on washed dishes; just use the normal stream
- very low water pressure; also lower for non-filtered water
- 3-4 times slower than Brita, which explains its reliability; still, faster than PUR; general agreements on slowness
- metallic connector but again, slow water flow
- no indicator for when to replace the filter
- automatic switch to unfiltered mode when turning the faucet off, but that feature tends to break
Zuvo
