Online survey sites reviews

All online survey sites I've seen so far have a pricing plan that allows for a certain number of free responses, after which you need to pay in order to access the extra responses.

A workaround would be to export existing responses, then delete them, and hope that the next responses become available. (This is, somewhat surprisingly, suggested by Adobe Forms Central)

Candidates

Online survey websites
Survey website Free survey entries

Wufoo 100
Zoomerang 100

SuveyGizmo

I tried SurveyGizmo in October 2011, while creating a survey for startups interested in relocating to Blueseed. SurveyGizmo did the job, but with some glitches.

Pros

  • powerful: many question types, show/hide logic
  • predefined questions and answers, e.g. Countries, US states, contact info
  • can use HTML for your questions
  • easy to embed using iframe code
  • responsive support: I mentioned some errors in their welcome email and got a human response within one hour, on a Sunday evening.

Cons

  • after the survey taker clicks "Next" on the current page, in the iframe embedding option, the next page doesn't automatically scroll to the top
  • the help is a bit lacking: some options aren't explained, and others are out of date
  • there seems to be a bug with survey logic: you can'tmake a question depend on questions on pages other than 1 and 2 in the survey.

Verdict: recommended
